A Daybook

For today, March 12, 2018

Looking out my window ~
the sun is breaking through clouds, there's a slight breeze, and Spring is peeking in from just around the corner.

I am thinking ~
about my son who has a meeting today, and glad that he told me, so I can say a little prayer for him. I wonder how often my grown children have something going on in their day that isn't really significant enough for a phone call, to tell me about it. It used to be that I knew all of those little details, and loved hearing about them around the supper table.

I am thankful ~
that I get to be a mom.

One of my favorite things ~
When I have a menu plan. I'm not as good about this as I used to be.

I am wearing ~
jeans, a long-sleeved black knit shirt, and a pair of my favorite earrings.

I am creating ~
order out of chaos, room by room.

I am watching ~
movies with Dan. On Saturday we watched Darkest Hour. We both liked it, and next up is Dunkirk. Our goal is to watch most of the Oscar nominated movie, although there are a couple that we don't care to see.

I am reading ~
My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry by Fredrik Backman.

I am listening to ~
the hum of the washing machine, the clock ticking, and Lilly softly growling at someone walking by the house.

I am hoping ~
that when Spring gets here, it will linger.

In the kitchen ~
a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies, Honey Lime Chicken Enchiladas baking.

A very interesting read, Karen. Your home must smell heavenly with those cookies baking. Thx for sharing about the book you are reading. We are having a cold/windy day today. Hard to know what clothes to put on each day! I love your pretty vignette with the blooms and the good smelling candle. Have a pleasant evening. p.s. Just as I read that Lily was barking at a passerby, Theo began barking at someone on our street! lol

Karen, I so enjoyed the easy flow of your Daybook. Your writing speaks to my heart, as well as the way you decorate! Love that watering can lamp I see in the last picture. :-) Your cookies make my mouth water! Oh my goodness! Take care and have a wonderful week!

Your day sounds quite wonderful! I love the sky, and the sound of what you're baking. I agree on knowing what is going on with our kids - that was a thought provoking section!
