Just sliding in at the tail end of the week to jot down some favorites for Friday's Fave Five. This week, I'm thinking about some little things that make life sweet.
A letter in the mail ~ This doesn't happen very often, so it's always a nice surprise when I get a handwritten letter. It seems there's less and less mail these days that bears postage stamps. Most of it is metered or bulk mail.
Cereal for supper ~ Dan had a dinner commitment one evening, so I got in my PJs early and had a bowl of cereal while watching an episode of The Crown. I just started watching the series and I love it! I have to pace myself and watch one episode at a time, or I could be up all night.
My book light ~ My evening ritual is to read some devotionals in bed by the light of my little Book Light. Part of the reason is so not to disturb Dan, because I'm such a night owl. But, I love the soft glow of the light as I read words of calm and comfort. I have been sleeping better at night since I started this nighttime routine.
The library ~ My favorite retreat. It's just minutes from the house and I can always find a corner to read or write. I take my earbuds and my iPhone and soak up the peace and quiet.
Leslie's blog ~ I have a lot of favorite blogs, and Leslie's place is one that I love to visit. Here is the link to Dandelion Sprinkles, where the holidays are always celebrated in style.
