Five Spring Favorites

It's the first Friday Fave Five of Spring. A new season and a renewed effort to keep up with my favorite meme at the end of the week.

It's been one of those weeks where it's hard to narrow it down, but here are five things I'm grateful for:

1.  Celebrating this grandson of mine on his first birthday! I hold him whenever I possibly can, knowing that in a short time he'll be walking and won't want to be held (sniff). He is so round and roly poly and happy all the time.  Just a delight.

2. We Facetimed with the Wisconsin contingency and all the grandkids got to see each other. It was great fun watching their reactions to one another. The 3-year-old is the only one who really understood what the heck was going on, but there was lots of waving and smiling. Kids don't hold back, I love that.

3. My son Joe is taking a literature class this semester, and I've read a few of the books along with him. We've had some great discussions. I read some of Truman Capote's works -- a first for me. At Joe's suggestion, I started with Breakfast at Tiffany's. He is a wonderful, sensitive writer and his short stories are just lovely. I haven't read In Cold Blood and I'm not sure if I will, but I'm really glad I read his other works.

4.  I found a new favorite at Starbuck's -- an Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato. It's not as sweet as it sounds, and I sometimes ask for less caramel.  But, as prepared it's only 200 calories, so that's something.

5.  Last but not least, I had a really nice week at work. It was a quiet week, and I was able to get caught up, completing the transition to our new billing system. I'm feeling quite capable and techie right now.

How was your week?  Link up here to share!

Hi, Your grandson is adorable. He looks so happy! Glad you had a nice week at work and feel confident with the new system. I confess I've only been to Starbucks once or twice - I know I would become addicted! lol I hope you have an enjoyable weekend.

Karen, your grandson is just adorable! I'd be holding every chance I got, too!

How nice that you and your son Joe were able to read books along and have good discussions on them afterwards. Our son called me this afternoon...he normally does on Friday's. He says, "I just thought I'd call and check on you, Mom".

Glad that things went well at work this week for you, too! That is always a blessing!

Have a great weekend, my friend.

Awww your grandson is cute and great that you were able to Facetime together. Technology is great when it works well. Being on top of things at work is always a good feeling.

I so agree about holding grandchildren while you can! My grandson doesn't like for us to pick him up or hold him much any more, but he will cuddle close to look at a book or play sometimes, and I love it. Face Time is one of my favorite inventions! I've seen Breakfast at Tiffany's but haven't read it. Otherwise I don't know much about his work (except a story about a boy and either his aunt or his grandmother who made fruitcakes - when I was in college someone did that for their speech recital.) Yay for getting caught up at work and comfortable with the new system!

Sounds like a wonderful week. I Love that you are reading the books from your sons course. I bet the discussions between you two are fun. Love that adorable boy, he is getting so big!

Your grandson is so cute! I love his fat rolls. How come they're so cute on babies but not on us adults? ;-) How cool that you are reading the same books as your son and that you can discuss them. I'm a big reader, but have never read Truman Capote. I don't think I'd want to read In Cold Blood either.

Happy birthday to that little sweetie pie!

I do love it when book discussions come up with my kids or grandkids.

My favorite thing this week was a weekend visit from my little granddaughters and their parents!

This is a really great way to appreciate life. I used to have a thank you journal; actually, I have it somewhere. I need to pull it out and use it!

Your grandson is adorable! :) I'm glad you have him, your son, and the rest of your loving family.

Happy Birthday to your adorable grandson!
It's it great to be able interact on the computer/phone with family far away? Best part of social media and internet!
