A Daybook

"Every day is a blank page."

FOR TODAY, June 22, 2015

Outside my window . . .Mostly blue skies with light cloud cover that the sun will soon burn off.  It's going to be another hot day.

I am listening to . . .Van Morrison, Into the Mystic, on Pandora

I am thinking . . .of how blessed I am to be surrounded by strong, loving men who are good dads.  My father is someone I have looked up to my entire life.  My husband is an awesome dad.  I'm thankful my son has such good role models.

I am thankful . . . to live in a place with four distinct seasons.  Loving summer.

In the kitchen . . .Crockpot shredded barbecue chicken for sandwiches, coleslaw and baked beans.

I am creating . . .a perennial garden.

I am reading . . . The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Nevin.  Also, re-reading Magical Journey by Katrina Kenison, with a group of friends.

I am looking forward to . . .having my granddaughter, "Little Bit", here today.  Mondays are "my day" with her.  She is just shy of three-months-old already!

I am learning . . . that "the most important thing we can learn is our ignorance."

Around the house . . .dirty floors, thanks to a dog that likes to garden with me;) and laundry to be done.
A favorite quote for today . . . "Uncertainty is part of the human condition.  Perhaps contentment comes as we learn to get comfortable with it."  (Katrina Kenison)

Some of my favorite things . . . fairy gardens, old photos, ice cream cones.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .take a necklace to the jeweler's to get the clasp fixed, pedicure, a wedding!

A peek into my day . . .
My daughter-in-law took this picture of my granddaughter in her daddy's shoes!

"Little Bit" with her Auntie Ashley.

How BIG those shoes look on such a wee one. That is a great photo. Your crock pot chicken sounds delicious. I don't have a fairy garden, but aren't they great? I have seen some very imaginative ones. Enjoy your grammy time with Little Bit!

Oh my goodness, look at her, so cute in those humungous shoes! Great picture :)

Good idea on the crockpot chicken, I need to do that soon with coleslaw and maybe potato salad. I do make baked beans for my better half, he loves them, but for some reason, I don't like them one little bit :) Thanks for the menu planning help!

Have a blessed day and week Karen!
