Monday Daybook

"Every day is a blank page."

FOR TODAY. . . Monday, March 9, 2016

Outside my window . . .The sun is shining, sky is blue. Blades of green grass are poking through  patches of snow still on the ground.  There are still patches of snow on rooftops and melting mounds of snow along the edges of driveways.

I am listening to . . . Zac Brown Band, Whatever It Is

I am thinking . . . about how much I enjoy my water aerobics class.  No matter how hard it is to drag myself over there some mornings, I'm always glad I go.  The ladies in my class are a lot of fun.

I am thankful . . . for how easy it is to keep in touch by phone these days.  Growing up, long distance calls were so rare and expensive.  Now, I can talk to anyone in my family for as long as I want.  I tend to take it for granted.  I just had a nice long chat with my brother Andy:)

In the kitchen . . . last night I tried a new recipe for Chicken Spinach Ravioli Lasagna.  It needs a little work on the seasonings, but it was easy and fun to make.  Tonight's menu is salmon, sweet potatoes and a vegetable.

I am wearing . . . capris and a sweatshirt.  A nod to both spring and snow still on the ground.

I am creating . . .a baby blanket for granddaughter #2.  It's almost finished!

I am going . . . to take my camera to get it fixed.  Been on my to-do list for a very long time.

I am wondering . . . what would happen if the events of Stephen King's The Stand really came true, and I was part of the 1% of the earth's population that survived.  And I was the most advanced science person alive in my town.  Only because I made it through college chemistry and biology, 99% of which I've forgotten.  These are the things that keep me awake at night.  I wish I had studied harder.

I am reading . . .

I am hoping. . . that The Stand never really comes true.

I am looking forward to . . . putting pictures in this album:)

I am learning . . . truth is stranger than fiction.

Around the house . . . Spring Cleaning would be a good idea.

I am pondering . . . that I am living proof that you can plan and plan and plan, and life has a way of taking its own twists and turns.

A favorite quote for today . . .  Do or do not.  There is no try. ~~Yoda

One of my favorite things . . . going for pedicures yesterday with Emily and Kathy.  We all got pink in anticipation of Baby Brooklynn.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . going out with friends to dinner and a comedy club; meeting with our Rockies Season Ticket group to choose games for this season; going to the art museum with my aunt to see this exhibit.

A peek into my day . . .

I don't read or watch Stephen King but that does sound ominus! If I was the most advanced science person alive in my town we would truly be in deep trouble.

Better get that camera fixed before grandbaby comes! We want pictures!! :)
