Friday Favorites

It's time to join in the Friday Fave Five crowd and take a look back at the week.  For some reason, I had a hard time keeping up with what day of the week it was all week long.  However, I'm sure today is Friday, because the link for FFF is up!

1.  Spring broke through this week!  February broke a record for us in the amount of snow that accumulated.  Tuesday night we had another little snow storm, but today was warm and sunny.

2.  Movie night at home.  We've been watching a lot of movies on Netflix this winter.  Some good, some not so good, but since it's so much cheaper than going out to the theatre, we're willing to suffer through a few duds now and again.  (i.e. Grand Budapest Hotel. Terrible!)  This week we watched And So It Goes with Diane Keaton and Michael Douglas.  They are both good actors and while the story line was a bit weak, I just loved watching the two of them together.

3.  An old/new favorite store!  One of my favorite places to shop closed their doors last year.  It was an old farmhouse with different vendors that rented out each room.  Lots of antiques and crafts and unique gifts.  Well, one of the vendors opened her own store and it's even better than the original.  She has a tea room, too.  I started my Christmas shopping this week -- the earliest ever for me.

4.  The Lenten retreat that I'm doing online has been so rewarding and I just love reading the lessons each day.

5.  Looking forward to a nice weekend.  Some free time to work on craft projects -- a Spring wreath that I'm probably premature in making -- and house projects.  On Sunday, meeting friends for lunch.

I hope your week was filled with good moments and happy surprises!

That photo of the spring wreath is gorgeous. I especially like the burlap.

I am usually an early Christmas shopper, but never this early. How wonderful for you to get a head start. And it sounds like the place you shopped at is delightful. Those must be very special presents.

I was wondering about a movie to rent; thanks for the suggestion.I appreciate both the actors and so I bet I will enjoy this movie as well.

Hi Karen - I am new visitor to you blog and plan to follow along! I love pansies so I love the picture in your header. They so remind me of my grandmother who used to sing me the song "Little Purple Pansies." Sounds like you have had a pretty good week. I need to take more time out to just relax and watch movies. I don't do it often, but do enjoy it when I do. Enjoy the week ahead!

I saw on TV that you had a lot of snow this year ! You bought already Christmas gifts ?? But you are right, I always buy things to offer for whatever occasion when I see them. If I look for something I never find anything !

Yeah for spring breaking through! I think it has here too, the predicted temps for next week seem to say so. Hopefully it will stick!

We enjoy at home movie nights. Dave makes a huge tub of his delicious popcorn and it's a nice thing to do together. Finding good movies is getting harder and harder. We turned off Grand Budapest quite early into it.

The old farmhouse with different vendors in the rooms sounds like such a great concept. To bad it closed. But the new store looks lovely.

I was going to try my hand at a pussy willow wreath ala pinterest but can't seem to locate the pussy willows. Oh well, it's probably a good thing. I'm not so crafty.

I think you've got the right idea about movies. Nothing like paying to see a movie that you'd like to walk out on!

Congrats on being the earliest shopper for Christmas! Sounds like a lovely place to visit.
