A Daybook

FOR TODAY, July 14, 2014

Outside my window. . .the sky is blue and the air is cool from last night's rain.

I am thinking. . .that writing this blog post is so much easier than trying to figure out iCloud.

I'm wishing . . .that I had Joe help me last night, when he was here for dinner.

I am thankful. . .that setting up iCloud is the biggest problem I have right now!

In the kitchen. . .leftover potato salad from yesterday. . .enough to feed a family of six for a week!  We grilled moose burgers last night!  I was a bit hesitant to try them, but they were really good.  No, I did not hunt the moose myself, we got them from a friend.

I am creating. . .a backyard garden plan. Still.

I am going. . .to lunch with my stepmom, Carol, today.

I am happy. . .that the grass seed I planted a couple weeks ago is coming up nicely, and that I'll have time to go by my favorite antique shop after lunch today.

I just finished reading. . . The Art of Hearing Heartbeats by Jan-Philipp Sendker.  It was wonderful.  I don't do a lot of book reviews on my blog, because I'm kind of lazy that way, but I really should review this one.  It's my favorite read of the summer.

I am looking forward to. . .book club this Wednesday, and a picnic this weekend.

Around the house. . .caught up with most of the laundry, the fridge is stocked, menus planned.  In pretty good shape, for the most part.

I am pondering. . .why I have so many passwords in my not-so-top-secret life.  Between work and home, and requirements to change and update them, I have gone through every street, dog, child, birthday, I know or have known in my life.  And, my son chides me for my record keeping skills and not being secret enough.

A favorite quote for today. . .Remember that everyone you meet is afraid of something, loves something, and has lost something. (H Jackson Brown, Jr.)

Some of my favorite things. . .baby bunnies, Dove chocolates, Crab Tree & Evelyn's Pomegranate, Argan & Grapeseed lotion

A peek into my day. . .a Fourth of July selfie of 200-plus years of friendship!

Oh the passwords! I swear they are going to be my undoing one of these days. I can't remember half the time what I used where. I have been avoiding the cloud and anything like it like the plague.

I love potato salad. I'll help finish it! ;)

Can't help you with iCloud... I have an android phone... yes, it is good that this is the biggest problem we might be facing.
Your quote is great! Something to remember for sure. Hope you have a great week Karen!

Thanks for reminding me of the beauty everywhere.

Passwords are certainly a challenge. I am not familiar with iCloud. A lot of what pertains to the computer can be a challenge to me. Hope you have a great week!

Love that quote! So, I guess that means there ought to be something I can relate to with each person I spend time with ...

Passwords are irritating. My bank makes me change mine every 90 days ... so difficult to keep up with them all!

By the way, have I told you how much I love those pansies in your blog header? Pansies against a white fence - definitely defines cuteness.
