Favorites in Photos

On Monday, I decided to keep my eyes open for special moments to photograph for my favorites this week.  It was hard to choose just five, but here they are.  Linking up with Susanne and the rest of the crew for Friday's Fave Five.

1) Back roads. . .on the drive home while running an errand, I took the back road and was treated to a beautiful view of the Flatirons outside of Boulder.

2)  More back roads, a day later.  I love seeing hayfields in the early summer.  There's something satisfying about seeing all that hay, cut and neatly rolled, resting on the meadow.  I can only imagine the satisfaction the farmer must be feeling, after a job like that!

3)  Our neighbor's tree is in full bloom. I have no idea what kind of tree this is -- does anyone recognize it?  I'll have to ask her the next time we chat over the backyard fence.  It seems so tropical and out of place for our region.

4) Fresh basil. Fresh bread. Fabulous bruschetta.  Need I say more?

5)  This made me smile.  This young mom was intent on getting a passel of kids across the street at a nearby park.  My first thought was, "Can't find the stroller.  Oh, heck . . .this'll work."

Enjoy the weekend!

I love the mountains and the hay fields! The tree looks like a Catalpa tree to me. It flowers and then gets big "bean' type things that hang down. It has large leaves.

The mountains are beautiful. Would love to make a trip out west but summer on the farm is busy. Those hay bales must get rolled up just at the right time! :)
Enjoyed the pictures. What a great idea for sharing your week!
Hope you have a super weekend!

Lovely! I especially like the hay bales. Maybe it's my prairie heritage but whenever I see bales of hay I think "home". Happy weekend, Karen.

You live in a beautiful area! I love to take the back roads to see the beauty of God's creation.

I don't know the name of the tree but I love it. Trees are such a blessing.

Love mountains. They always lift my spirits. You live close to some pretty nice scenery. That last pic made me smile. Reminds me of when the kids were little and hubby's fun thing with them was to go for walks with them all piled in the wheel barrow. We got the looks let me tell you!

Those first two are picture postcard perfect! And oh my, I'm quite envious of your basil. I have just about killed mine, the poor thing. Mine looked like that when I brought it home a couple of months ago, but the poor baby is almost gone now, I think it was in the hot sun too much :(
