Monday Musings

I've really slipped on the Gratitude Photo Challenge these past few days.  It's been a crazy busy weekend and I just couldn't keep up.  And then with the crushing finale of Downton Abbey. . . I'm still reeling.  Not  reeling as in the way Anna did so beautifully last night, (and didn't you just adore the way Mr. Bates watched her dance, the love in his eyes? Sigh.)

I have to confess.  I knew the ending before it even started.  Someone told me, actually, I insisted on knowing, at first he only hinted at the devastation, and so then I had to know.  Which  meant I was on the edge of my seat for the whole entire episode, wondering, "Is this it? Will it happen now?"  And finally, by the end, I was just sure it wasn't going to happen at all. But then it did!! Where will Downton be without Matthew!?  And, even worse, where will I  be on Sunday evenings without Downton?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On Saturday, we all pitched in to help Joe move.  He found one side of a duplex to rent, with a big fenced-in yard for George!  Plus, it is only minutes from where he works downtown.  With the five of us working together, plus a couple of his friends, the move went fairly quickly, though he still has a few things here.  Actually, a lot of things, as most of what's in the crawl space belongs to him.  I guess they never really  completely eave home, do they?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yesterday, I made a big pot of spaghetti sauce and homemade bread, and we had all three of the kids, plus a couple of their friends, for dinner.  I do love having a houseful to feed:)

Catching up on photos:

Subject:  Animals
This is Gadget, a therapy dog in our office.  She's a golden-doodle and a LOVE!

 Subject:  Memories
I took this "photo of a photo" which hangs on the bulletin board over my desk.  Not long ago, Dan's mom gave us an envelope full of snapshots from our wedding, that I'd never seen before.  They were taken by Dan's grandpa.  It was so exciting, to have brand new memories!  I love this photo of Dan:)

Subject:  Something new
When we were in Mexico, Dan bought me these earrings.  The stone is red coral.

Okay, all caught up!  Happy Monday!

Love the goldendoodle!

Ever since you posted a picture a while ago of your kitchen island with the drawers that your husband made for you, I've wanted to do that with my island. Well, come this Saturday I will have drawers! I used your picture to show exactly what I wanted. Can't wait!

Karen I am enjoying your Gratitude photos! I also knew about Matthew, it seems since it aired in the UK in Dec it wasn't a well kept secret. I will miss him and Downton Abbey!! How long before they return??

hugs, Linda

I think it was only a few years ago that I brought stuff home from my mom and dad's. Umm. Hadn't lived there since 1977. Now I bring home what my mom wants to give me as keepsakes. Cute dog. My heart is getting ready for a puppy after I retire. I really want another Newfie, but have also been looking at Newfie/poodle mix.♥♫

Is it bittersweet the moving? I mean you want them to get older and move on, but even moving their things out is hard. You miss them so much.
Hugs to you,
Meredith

Love the red coral! Wish I could wear earrings. I have got to start catching up on this Downtown Abbey that everyone speaks of. Glad your son had a smooth move into his new place. My Older Girl is moving next week into a small place and is stressing a bit about downsizing her stuff to fit into the place. But it's in a much better location for her and she gets to live on her own rather than sharing. I think she's a bit over the roommate drama for a while.
