Hello, again

I'm back.

Yes, it was great to have a break.  To those of you who asked if I missed blogging, the answer is, "Yes. I did."  For many reasons, but one in particular:  Little did I realize how much I depended on my blog to help me find the 'sunny side' of life. I was SO pleased to learn that looking for 'good things' to blog about had become a habit.  So all summer long, not a day went by, that I didn't think, "Oooh, that would be a good thing for my blog."  And I realized, that among all the messy stuff that I've been dealing with, there was lots of grace. LOTS of it. So much of it, and I missed having the outlet for celebrating all those good things.

So, here I am:)

Summer in a nutshell:

Dan and I took a trip to the mountains, exploring places that we hadn't been to in years.  It made us long for all the weekends we used to spend camping -- before and after kids -- and, it made us appreciate the beautiful, luxury hotel we were staying in!  We found some great little restaurants, a winery tucked away in a mountain valley, a great wine festival (notice a theme here?) and thoroughly enjoyed being up the hills.

We practically lived on our back porch.  We spent evenings doing puzzles, having ice cream, reading books, and enjoying friends.  We ate breakfast out on the porch, such a great way to start the day.  It's our favorite place to just hang out.

We spent a week at the shore with our friends Pam and Jim.  Collecting shells, beach concerts, brief but spectacular thunderstorms!  We're still basking in the great memories we made there.

I'm off to catch up on all the blogs I've missed reading these past three months.  So good to be chatting with you again, over the backyard fence!
