Monday

For today . . .April 23, 2012

Outside my window. . .is a beautiful Spring day.  The air smells of lilacs, the sky is blue and the sun is shining.  The birds are chattering and a dog is barking in the distance.  I love being able to have the windows open.

I am thinking. . .how nice it's been to be able to get around without crutches.  I'm still wearing a surgical boot and I use crutches for 'long distances.'  But, I don't need them around the house!

I am thankful for. . .my husband being home these past few months.  Things happen for a reason, and even though his being out of work wasn't part of our plan, it has been a blessing with  my surgery and with some medical issues his dad is going through.

From the kitchen. . .yesterday I signed up for a membership with allrecipes.com so that I can use their menu planner.  I'm always looking for ways to get better organized with this task.

I am wearing. . .capris, tee and one sneaker:)

I am creating. . .a new writing project.

I am going. . .to physical therapy this afternoon.

I am reading. . . Pictures of You by Caroline Leavitt

On my mind. . . prayers for my father-in-law.

I am hearing. . .Jason Aldean on Pandora radio

Around the house. . .it's very quiet today.

One of my favorite things. . . Happy perfume, by Clinique

A few plans for the rest of the week. . . my birthday tomorrow!  Lunch with my friend, Terry; coffee with my dad and my brother; dinner with Hubs.  Physical therapy, a baseball game, doctor appointment for my foot, work.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing . . .Joey adopted a greyhound.  His name is George, and he is the sweetest dog.  He's four years old and was retired from racing because he broke his toe:(

Many thanks to Peggy at The Simple Woman's Daybook for hostessing this meme.  It continues to be one of my favorites.  It's a great way to start the week!  If you'd like to join in, here's the link.

Wow so much going on. So sorry to hear you FIL is having difficulties, having older parents is really tough. Love the new sweet greyhound. Your son looks like he is in love! Glad you are getting around better, and that you are healing and getting stronger everyday.
Hugs to you,
Meredith

Glad to hear you're off those crutches. That's a bit more freedom.

Saying a prayer for your Father in law.

I've never heard of a dog breaking his toe. Poor little guy. But I bet he's got a great life with your son.

Things do happen for a reason--sometimes we don't know why and we may never know the answers but we go on as you guys are doing.
Hope your foot is healing well and that soon you will be wearing two shoes! :)

Great looking pup!

Have a wonderful birthday!!!

Menu planning is one of the banes of my existence ...

I love Happy perfume! I haven't had any in a good while.

I have friends who adopted two greyhounds that retired from racing. It's like living with two deer, I think! They love them, though, and say the dogs have the sweetest natures.
