Food Adventure

Today, I'm linking up with Dandy at Spontaneous Clapping for 52 Food Adventures.  She's made it a goal to try 52 new foods this year, and invites anyone adventurous enough to play along!

Today I went to lunch with some friends to a place called Lucky Pie Pizza and Tap House.  Gourmet pizza seems to be all the rage these days, but this place goes above and beyond what I've seen at other restaurants.  And it is DE-licious.

I had the Bruges pizza -- shaved Brussels sprouts (yes, Brussels sprouts), apples sliced paper thin, fontina, mozzarella, pistachios!, and olive oil.

Good, doesn't even begin to describe it.  I can't wait to go back with Dan and try the Alvin -- acorn squash puree, fig gastrique, maple walnuts and goat cheese.

Have you had any Food Adventures this week?

Wow, and yum! I love brussel sprouts but it never entered my mind as a pizza topping. I've often wanted to try a goat cheese pizza but I'm very back and forth with the goat cheese. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't.

Wow, that is BRRRRRAVE my friend. But I guess you never know unless you try. I have vowed to try something new from the produce department every month this year. January was kale. And February was bok choy. Both were good in soups and stir fries. Bok choy much like a spicy celery.

But other than that I am a poor pioneer for new foods. I won't eat any fruit mixed into anyTHING. I love it natural, but never hiding. I won't eat any red meat, any pork, or any turkey. I can't stank my peanut butter sharing bread with my jelly (note the fruit issue).

I met someone, however, that won't eat anything square. Bread, cheezits, even pizza cut in squares. She will, however, eat it if it is in a triangle. Hehe. Takes all kinds. :)

Karen:

I am woefully behind on blog reading and decided to check in on yours. I was surprised by all the recent news you've shared; I will send good thoughts your way on all fronts.

The religion post really resonated with me. I married a "non" Catholic, the first one admitted to my family! Our son did catholic grade school with mixed results, so our daughter was the first person in my family to attend public school, which has been a really good experience for us.

Good luck with homeschooling---it sounds like a good fit for your daughter!
