Friday Favorites

Looking back over the week, can you think of five moments or five things that blessed you?  That's what Suzanne at Living to Tell the Story encourages us to do with Friday's Fave Five.  Here are mine:

1.  Today being the first day of Fall.  The air has cooled and the maple tree in my front yard is turning gold.   How I love Autumn.

2.  My favorite shows had season premiers -- The Good Wife and Modern Family. The latter is one that Dan and I watch together.  It makes us laugh -- really laugh -- every single time.  Nothing like laughter to lift your spirits.  The Good Wife is 'my show' and I love the 'me' time I get from it.

3.  My book club met at my house this week.  Our group has been meeting for 10 years!  Our kids have grown from babies and toddlers to teens and young adults.  We've read great books and not-so-great books, but our time together is always golden.

4.  I made a new recipe this week. Pasta Carbonara.  It requires just four ingredients -- linguini, bacon, Romano cheese and egg yolks.  I added chicken.  So simple, but so good.

5. The Firstborn turned 22 this week.  22!  We'll celebrate his birthday tonight, when the Middle Child gets home.  It will be good to have everyone around the supper table tonight.

How was your week?

Three Cheers for Fall, I love this time of year too, when we really enjoy the comforts of home.

I have never been in a book club. Maybe sometime you can write a post on how it got started.

Your 4 ingredient recipe sounds tasty. I didn't do any home cooking this past week. I'd best get something out of the freezer so that can be remedied!

Have fun celebrating Firstborn's birthday. The time really goes by so quickly. (My firstborn is 28.)

Oh Autumn is my absolute fave season...here in NY it seems like we are getting a slow start though..it still feels like summer and no leaves are really changing yet. And I for the FIRST TIME (got the recipe from Simple and Delicious) made Summer Carbonnara. Mine called for everything yours did but with zucchini as well. It was delish..so funny you posted it as one of your faves! Enjoy the weekend......

Sounds like a great week. Mine was questionable but turned out better as the week has progressed. Love, love. love Modern Family. Not many shows make me laugh out loud, but this one does for sure.
Happy Weekend,

We're slow to get autumn weather in our part of Texas, but it seemed like our temps went from triple digits (110 and above REGULARLY) to 80's & 90's. Plus, fall brings lower humidity to our area, so the mornings and evenings are deliciously cool.

I love Modern Family. My daughter got me hooked on it on her visit here last year. The great writers make you care about every single character, and they're all so incredibly funny!

I hope it was a wonderful birthday celebration. I love when I'm together with all my siblings, even now that we're all old 40 somethings.

Happy Autumn!

Pasta Carbonera is wonderful! I rarely make it but we always enjoy it when I do.

Modern family is one of our favorites as well and I feel like they started the season well this year.

That is so cool that your book club has been together that long. I love fall, my favorite. The cooler temps, sweaters, the colors. All my faves shows have started now too. Good thing it's cooler outside. LOL.

Happy bday to your oldest son. Our oldests are the same age, mine turns 22 in Feb. Another common thing amongst us.
