Friday Favorites

Haven 't had much time for blogging, but I can't pass up Friday's Fave Five -- an opportunity to look back at my week and count a few blessings.

1.  Luke's surgery went very well. I'm so thankful for people who love medicine and aren't squeamish about blood and stitches and seeing icky stuff.  I am not one of them.  But thank God there are people like Dr. S who like that stuff.  And I discovered  a whole new application for engineering, as he and Dan (an engineer) discussed how Luke's elbow should be put back together.  I was flattered when Dr. S looked at  me and asked, "Are you an engineer, too?"  To think he even speculated I  might be that brainy.  "No," I confessed, "I work from the other side of the brain."

2.  A free car wash.  The place I take my car to be serviced always washes it and vacuums inside.  I love having a nice clean car to drive around.

3. 50 cent ice cream cones from McD's.  54 cents with tax.  Such a cheap treat.

4.  Reba reruns.  I absolutely.love.this.show.  It makes me laugh out loud, and that has been a huge blessing this week.

5.  Dan and I have been taking turns getting up in the middle of the night to give Luke his pain medication.  One night I stayed up until my "shift" and caught up with on some scrapbooking.  I love these two pages.  Nothing fancy, just spending time on the back porch.  Just a note:  I'm obviously not a "serious" scrapbooker, but love paper and stickers and pasting.  Shoulda been a kindergarten teacher.

Glad Luke is doing ok.

Scrapbooking in the night? I can't function after 9 p.m. so my hat is off to you!

I really love the Reba reruns too. I haven't been able to find them in my neck of the woods lately ....

Good to hear that Luke's surgery went well.

I've never seen Reba, but saw promotions of it when it was new. I think I'll search for it and catch an episode. A good laugh always gives joy to the day.

Oh I am so far behind on my blog reading! I didnt even know Luke needed surgery! I am so glad it went well. Praying for quick healing, and that the transition to school goes smoothly for all of you.

Your scrap book pages look amazing to me. Great job. That used to be my favorite time to scrapbook too. The middle of the night. No interruptions!

I love your response to the doc about working from the other side of the brain.

And the place I work has 50 ice cram (NO TAX!) ever day. I'm in BIG trouble.

Doctors are a special breed, like engineers and military special ops. I appreciate them tremendously because I can't do what they do.
Good news on Luke! Happy healing to him.

Free car wash and 50 cent ice creams would make my list too. It costs one dollar here at our McD's. So glad that Luke's surgery and recovery is going well and that you are surrounded by left brain smarties. Have a good week.

So good to hear that Luke is doing well after surgery.

Your scrapbook pages look wonderful. So not my thing to do but I'd love it if someone came over and did all my pictures up like that! :v)

I love white cabinets, too...I scrolled down to see yours :)
The lighter all the walls in my house are, the happier I am.

Another Reba fan! I rarely watch primetime, but I discovered Reba in evening reruns a few years ago, and was immediately hooked. I find her hilarious, along with most of the rest of the cast. "Barbara Jean" is a real hoot, too! ;-)
