What I learned today. . .

A 5-year-old always wins in soccer. Always. Especially when he's keeping score.

If you eat an Otter Ice Pop too fast, you'll get a bwain fweeze.

Doing a 24-piece-holographic puzzle of Spider Man will also give you a bwain fweeze -- or at least make you wonder if your reading glasses need a change in perscription.

If you get frustrated with said puzzle, just close your eyes, put your hands together and "think" for a minute. Then try again.

When all else fails, "do the math."

It's always a good idea to carry a banana with you, in case you need a snack.

Watching a group of 10 five-year-olds in gymnastics is better than a professionally choreographed Broadway show.

Taking turns making up stories as you go along can make for great fun and lots of giggles.

Sometimes, you can make someone the happiest person in the whole world, just by treating him to a Happy Meal with chicken nuggets.

After spending six hours with the cutest nephew in the whole world, you
will need a long nap.

So enjoyed this post... how you took potentially normal activities of everyday and "learned" something from them!

Especially enjoyed that a 5 year old always wins in soccer and the 10 year old gymnasts being better than a Broadway show. :-)

Oh, I wondered where you were headed with that. How great! I know you made some fun memories with that little guy. What a treat for both of you.

Children that age can be such fun, but at the end of the day, we're generally reminded why we have kids when we're young. ;-)

What a wonderful post! Sounds like you learned a lot :) I am desperately needing some kiddo time. No grandkids... no nieces/nephews. What's a girl to do? -Tammy
