Monday again!

This morning, I'm going to linger on the simple things by joining Peggy and many others who are focusing on the beauty of 'everyday moments' by writing a Daybook.

For Today. . . Monday, May 10, 2010

Outside my window. . . is a warm sunny day, with a nice breeze rustling the leaves on the maple tree in my front yard.

I am thinking. . .about the nice weekend we had. Yesterday, the kids spoiled me with flowers and presents and handmade cards. We had lunch with my in-laws. In the afternoon, we worked together to pull out some shrubs in our front yard. They were overgrown and taking up a prime spot for flowers. Now, I'm ready to plant!

I am thankful for. . .big pots of red geraniums that are on sale at Costco, the physical therapist who has worked wonders on my aching achilles!, having time to spring clean my house.

From the kitchen. . .Busy day today, so tonight we'll throw some chicken & apple brats on the grill and have it with deli macaroni salad.

I am creating. . .space in my home by decluttering.

I am going. . .to let Dan take Abby to the vet today, because she gets so nervous and then I get nervous and then we're both a wreck. Then, I'll go to Luke's baseball game while Dan takes Em to her horseback riding lesson. Weather permitting.

I am reading. . .This Blessed Mess by Patricia Livingston. For more info, click on the book on my sidebar. It's a GREAT read.

I am hoping. . .that the forecast for snow this week is wrong. It is just wrong, to have snow in May.

I am hearing. . .birds chirping outside my window, the breeze blowing in the trees, the clock chiming 11:30.

Around the house. . .the deck and the roof are complete! "We" are going to screen it in, but for now I'm enjoying having a place to sit and have cup of coffee or a glass of wine. When it's not snowing.

One of my favorite things. . . Having a desk by the window.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .Baseball banquet, retirement party for a friend, dinner with friends, softball practice.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing. . .this is where I blog. . .at my desk that was a steal ($32.48!) at Target.
My view:)

We planted our deck pots of red geraniums yesterday, and added a beautiful decorative grassy plant called a ponytail to the pots. Later this week, I hope to finally get the tomato seedlings into the ground! Have a nice week ...

A sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm. Yikes, snow! We had frost last night and Frank says we're having more tonight! You sound so relaxed Karen, finding time for yourself and having time to sit and work on a Daybook sounds wonderful - I think it will definitely be a fulfilling endeavor! Your desk looks like it was a great buy, and your blogging area looks just perfect! Ciao, bella!

As I was reading your first comment about the warm, sunny day I was agreeing as we are finally getting a few of those.

And then I read further down about possible snow?! Oh, I hope not!

Here's to continued sunshine, flower planting and birds chirping...

I agree with your first commentor - you DO sound relaxed!
Your desk at the window makes me wonder if mine should be closer to my window. Hmmm...
