Garden spot

I've come across a major obstacle in planting my gardens this year.

She seems to think the backyard is her domain. Hmmm.

So, I decided to concentrate my efforts on a small garden in the front yard. First, I enlisted my landscaping crew to pull out some overgrown, misplaced evergreen shrubs.

Hey! Get back to work!

Girls and trucks come in handy for pulling out large shrubs.
After the demolition crew was done, I retained one enthusiastic worker to help me move some rocks and dirt.
Then . . . .ta daaaahhhh!!

I've yet to pull weeds in my yard. This is a huge mistake. HUGE.

That looks quite similar to the extrication tactics we used for the massively overgrown evergreens we removed this time last year! I love the end result, especially the bench. Really nice touch!

I also have an obstacle in my backyard, a Brittany. I had to put up those little fences around all our new plantings so he wouldn't destroy them with his territorial behavior. Argh.

A sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm! What a great garden you put together - and to have your own personal landscapers is really a plus. I forgot how much puppies love to dig up everything and anything - but your idea to work on the front yard this year is a good one. Next summer the backyard!! Ciao, bella!
