Friday's Fave Five

Joining Suzanne and friends, taking a look back at the week and finding five things that made me happy.

1. Today, I was shopping and it just so happened that the woman in line behind me adopted a Springer Spaniel that is from the same litter as Lilly! She recognized me first, and we chatted and compared notes and discovered that both of our puppies love ear buds (no joke, we each had replacement packages in our carts), and that they are both very smart and that we both had forgotten how much energy they require. Such a small world!

2. I went shopping and to lunch with my aunt today, and that always makes me happy.

3. When I drove down our street, returning home, I saw DH's truck in front of the house, meaning he came home from work early. And then I remembered that the Rockies got a home run in the 7th inning last night, which means free Whoppers at Burger King tonight. And my heart skipped a beat. I'm not sure if it's because DH is home early or because I don't have to make supper tonight. But, it was a happy moment.

4. When DH took Abby to the vet on Tuesday, we discovered that she has a clogged tear duct, which was a much less serious diagnosis than what we have been led to believe (cancer). So, she's been getting eye drops once a day and she's as good as new. Did you know that dogs keep their noses wet through the fluid in their eyes? So when their eye gets dry, their nose gets really dry and it looks like a very serious condition.

5. I got two new pairs of glasses this week. Reading glasses and bi-focals. I feel as though I won the jackpot. Sad, I know, but these are the things that thrill me.

What made you happy this week?

I can completely identify with that 'heart skipping a beat' feeling of seeing my hubby home early, and not having to cook dinner; and I'd be hard pressed to know which thing made me happier! ;-Þ

Hey all those things thrill me too -- new glasses, cheap hamburgers - especially not having to cook!

Hope you have a great weekend as well!

Free whoppers for all for a Rockies homerun? Wow, we don't have anything like that here ... Enjoy!

What makes me happy is that yesterday we set up our gazebo on the back deck, bring on the beautiful weather :)

A sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm! I love this idea of the 'fave five!' I might give it a try myself, I need a little time to reflect tonight. Ciao, bella!

GOOD MORNING KAREN,
WE HAD THE WORST THUNDER STORM LAST NIGHT. LOVE YOUR FAVES, DID NOT KNOW THAT ABOUT THE CLOGGED TEAR DUCT, AND THE NOSE BEING DRY ARE CONNECTED. GOOD THING TO KNOW.
YESTERDAY (FRIDAY) WE HAD A BABY SHOWER FOR STEPHANIE [ONE OF JENNY'S NURSES) SHE IS DUE NEXT MONTH. THAT WILL BE MY NEXT POST. PAT CAME HOME EARLY YESTERDAY, WALKED IN WHILE THE BABY SHOWER WAS GOING ON, JENNY TURNED HER HEAD ALL THE WAY AROUND AND STARTED SMILING AT HIM, SHE REALLY LOVES PAT, HE ALWAYS BRINGS A SMILE TO HER FACE. HAVE A NICE WEEKEND.
LOVE, AUNT RIZ

I used to work part-time at a Vets and remember dogs getting clogged tear ducts. So glad she is okay!

Not having to cook is always a favorite! When I'm home, my husband cooks (he's better at it, I'm better at baking) But now that I am away - I have to cook. Every night.

Shopping and lunch. Yep, favorites!

Hubby home early and dinner out. Yep, more favorites!

Thankful for the good news at the vet. I can only imagine what a relief that diagnosis was compared to what you were expecting. Whew...

As much as I like my tennis class, I was happy that it was canceled today because of rain. I haven't had to get in my car today at all. I've enjoyed being home.

Glad Lilly's okay. :)
