Friday's Fave Five

One) I found a new blog that I just love. Karla Dornacher is an artist and author. She has the cutest Christmas ornaments and tags to download and print.
Italic Two) Gingersnap cookies for breakfast. This morning, I woke up and found a plate of freshly baked gingersnaps in the kitchen. I thought the little elves had been by last night, but it was my 5'10" oldest son who was looking for a midnight snack and couldn't find anything, so he whipped up some cookies. ("It was from a mix," he told me, apologetically). As if it matters! What a treat:)

Three)Dan made a shelf so I could put my Snow Village up this year. We skipped it last year, so it seems all new again. I'll post more pictures later. Four) Deep freeze. The temperatures have been below freezing all this week. The light snow that we got over the weekend still covers the ground. The roads are icy, but it's great weather for hot tea and a fire in the fireplace.

Five) So many other favorites this week, it's hard to choose just five! Leftover turkey is a favorite, and the last of it is gone. Ooooh, some of us miss it soooo. . .

Susanne at Living to Tell the Story is the hostess Friday's Fave Five. Join us, it's a great way to wrap up the week!

I love those snow villages. Every year my daughters and I look at them in the stores wistfully, but haven't picked out just the right one yet. There's such a comfort in their scenes. Nice idea to have a shelf exclusive for them. I'm off to check out Karla's blog, thanks for the link.

Karla spoke at our women's retreat about 3 years ago - we email back and forth once in a while. She is really sweet and is so talented. I think I have all of her books.

I LOVE snow villages. I don't have a special shelf for mine - I wish I did becasue it takes so much room. This year I am putting it in my kitchen window - it's quite deep. I love all the little picturesque people and quaint village shops! Be sure and post a picture of yours when you get it up.

Just love the cardinal on your header. It is beautiful against the snow.
We haven't had too much white stuff here but I guess we have some coming. It is cold here though.
Happy Friday to you.

HI KAREN,
CAN'T WAIT TILL YOU POST PICTURES OF YOUR VILLAGE. I GAVE MY VILLAGE TO JEANNE, NOW THAT I LIVE WITH JACKIE. SHE HAS A NICE VILLAGE I WILL TAKE PICTURES AND POST THEM WHEN SHE IS FINISHED DECORATING. NO SNOW YET, I HOPE WE GET SOME SOON. I HAVE BEEN VERY BUSY FINISHING UP MY ROOM. MY CLOSETS ARE ALMOST EMPTY.
(NOT!) JOE SURE IS NICE TO HAVE AROUND, HOME BAKED COOKIES, WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR. TAKE CARE,
LOVE, AUNT RIZ

Hi Karen :)

Thank you so much for your visit so long ago! I'm sorry I'm just getting over here now, but my life is crazy right now.

I love snow villages, but funny enough I don't have one, mostly because I don't have anywhere to put it. A shelf is a great idea :)

It's 29 degrees here in Ohio today and still no snow. Hopefully we'll get some soon.

Have a great day!

thank you for sharing your new finds (blogs). i still love visiting the blog that showcases the bookmarks the blogger finds in old books. i'll go over and check out this newest one.

looking forward to seeing your village. i've never done one because i never felt like i had the room to properly display one. a shelf sounds like a good idea.

All wonderful things, but I am SO excited that your hubby made you a shelf this year! I love, love, love my Snow Village and definitely want more pieces but I have both a storage and display problem. Yours looks wonderful and you must tell me, is that the pharmacy one between the Christmas shop (which I have) and the laundromat (which I do not), LOL! I think I have the pharmacy in my wish list, it is so cute :)

Enjoy your village and home this wonderful season - Merry Christmas Karen!
