Christmas Village, part 2

As promised, here are some pictures of the rest of my Christmas village. This part of the village is nestled in some bookcases upstairs in our loft. It makes it nice and cozy, sitting up there with a book and a cup of tea, sometimes a kid or two doing homework, with a pleasant little Christmas scene nearby. Don't forget to click on each photo with your mouse, if you want to enlarge it and see more details.

This is the music teacher's house. Isn't the snowman with the violin cute? This house reminds me a little bit of the house I grew up in in -- the gabled roof and the one car garage.
This is one of my earlier buildings. It's actually a renovation of one of an earlier version. Snow Village put on an addition and -- isn't that clever?
The birdwatchers . . .

The very first building that started our collection . . .

It's part of a little rural scene with a barn. . .

And some kids out behind the barn, roasting marshmallows over a campfire. The campfire actually lights up!Cute little calf. . .

The village greenhouse. . . And finally, a skating rink. See the kids making snow angels? I pick up the little figurines anywhere and everywhere. . . It doesn't matter if they exactly match the village, the more the merrier!
That's it! I tell you, these things are addictive. But it's just so much fun and having them out for just a month or so out of the year, makes it seem brand new each year when I pull it all out and set it up. I just make a day of it and try not to sweat too many of the details, letting some of the cords fall where they may. I have a lot of fun with it, and it brings smiles to lots of faces which is really the best part.

Oh, Oh! I have that second (yellow) house and also the dairy barn of the Snow Village. I have a couple of the individual figures you have too. As I look around here I count 9 buildings of SV, and no more room. Oh, to have a "Village Room" one could set up for Christmas. They are fun! Thanks for sharing yours. I want that marshmallow roasting piece! How cool is that? -Tammy

I love this! Truth be told, since we have not had children around at Christmas for a number of years, I've forgotten how magical these things can be. I think there may be a Christmas Village in my future. Thank you for sharing!

Karen, your village is SOOO cool.

I can just lose myself in scenes like that.

So much like playing dollhouse in the 'happy golden days of yore'.

VERY cute! Where are you finding things for your village? I'm having trouble finding stuff for mine.

Happy Holidays.

I'm back. You inspired me with these pictures so much that I took a trip to Kohl's yesterday and started a collection of my own! 60% off - who could resist? I got a cute little church, a barn, some lights and a few people. This is a collection I'll be adding to each year! Thank you for inspiring me - I can just picture my grandchildren being captivated at the little vignettes.

I love your village pieces - I have a conglomeration of a bunch of differen types, lovingly put up each year by my oldest son. We have ours in a window bay. I'm going to have to take a picture of it - Love how yours is so cozy and beautiful!

I love these! I want to start collecting them but right now I don't know that I have a lot of room. Maybe once I have some I will have space for them. Thanks for sharing your neighborhood and for stopping by.
