Monday, Monday

For Today...Monday, May 4, 2009

Outside my window...Awoke to a gray, cloudy day. The sun came and went throughout the day, and now its come out to warm the late afternoon.

I am hearing...the hum of the washing machine, the whir of the drill as DH is putting up a curtain rod, the clink of the ball on the metal bat in the back yard.

I am thinking... how much I enjoy doing a Monday daybook, even if it is technically an evening book.

I am thankful for... The new storm door that DH installed on the front of the house. I can open the inside door, and the sun shines in, warming the house, or the breeze blows through the screen giving us fresh spring air.

From the kitchen... remnants of banana chocolate chip muffins, baked yesterday. Lasagna for supper with salad and garlic bread.

I am wearing... jeans, brown shirt, sandals.

I am reading... Rediscovering Catholicism by Matthew Kelly

I am hoping... to work in the garden this week. It is supposed to be gorgeous weather, all week.

I am creating... order out of chaos in the spare bedroom. This weekend, we rearranged the furniture, moved a futon in, I hung some pretty blue curtains I had stashed away and lined some shelves with books. It's feels rather cozy in there.

I am praying... for guidance for the young people I know who are graduating. For our troops.

Around the house... could use a bit of tidying up. As always. I'll get over it. . . there, I'm over it.

One of my favorite things... tulips.

A few plans for the rest of the week... soccer games, softball starts for DH, track meet, Bible Study, Rockies game, dinner with DH

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

This was such a great list today. The storm door ... we did that last January and we LOVE how it changed the light and the air in our home. I don't feel so closed in anymore from the front yard. Lovely!

And I loved your "around the house ..." You're over it! Ha! That didn't take long. I love my laid back friends who know there are so many better ways to spend our time.

Have a wonderful week, Karen!!

Lasagna sounds wonderful...your muffins look great as well. Sounds like a great week girl. Working in the garden sounds great too...I plan on doing that as well. I planted alot of veggies last week and my green beans are coming up and so are my onion...very exciting.

Hi Karen!

I'm excited about the gardening as well - we had rain last night so it is a bit muddy today. I love that you got a screened front door. I would love that addition to our house. Let the breeze (read: strong wind) ripple (read: blast) through the house. (Maybe I could open the back door and it could take the mess right through...)

Have a great day!

I just love these, even though I don't always leave a comment :) I had to this week though, as your muffins looks so good! I made some chocolate chip banana muffins last week and they were so good. As I kept telling my husband, it's so much better because they have chocolate in them! LOL :)

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Tulips are my favorites!

Your room sounds great. Don't you love when all your hard work give you a wonderful cozy room?

Karen, what a delicious-looking picture thought!

I didn't get to do a Daybook this week. Lot's has been happening, but I keep running out of time and energy before blogging happens.

I enjoyed how you 'got over' the urge to clean! :P

I could use a few of those muffins this morning! I also love having a storm door to let in the beautiful weather, but keep out the nasty mosquitoes!
