Simply Monday

For Today...Monday, February 9, 2009

Outside my window... the sky is gray and it's chilly outside. We're supposed to get some winter weather this week.

I am thinking... twelve more days and we leave for our cruise!

I am thankful for... Dunkin' Donuts coffee

From the kitchen... spaghetti and meatballs for supper.

I am wearing... the usual. . . jeans, v-neck long-sleeved t-shirt and sneakers

I am reading... this week's lesson for Bible Study

I am hoping... for good report cards;)

I am creating... some Valentine boxes for my friends who are coming to Bible Study at my house tomorrow night. Candles, chocolates, goodies.

I am hearing... The Today Show on in the other room.

Around the house... Our powder room is freshly painted. The house is fairly clean, because we had company Saturday night.

One of my favorite things... being a Eucharistic minister at church. No matter how unworthy I feel when I get there, I feel so at peace afterward, being a servant of God.

A few plans for the rest of the week... Bible Study meets here tomorrow night, so I need to come up with an easy, light supper. Eye dr., vet (never did get the dog in last week), dr. appointment for one of the kids. Shop for a couple things for DH for our trip. Valentine's Day on Saturday! One of my favorite holidays.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
Here's Abby wearing Emily's neck pillow. It has speakers in it, so she can listen to her Ipod when it's hooked up. It's a dog's life.

Join in the fun and share your own daybook! Here's the link: The Simple Woman's Daybook

A cruise, how fun!
I just read something online last week about best coffees and think I remember that Dunkin Donuts had one of the best decaf ones....I'll have to find it sometime!

Oh my goodness at the cute puppy picture!

You're getting winter weather up there and we're supposed to be in the 70's most of the week. We don't get much winter! And a cruise, how did I miss that?! How fun, can't wait to hear and hopefully see pictures from your trip, how awesome :)

Have a great week!

I must've missed the cruise news. You luck dog, you! Speaking of lucky dogs, that Abby looks like she's got it made in the shade. ;-Þ

I don't know what a Eucharist minister is, but it sounds fulfilling. :-)

We're having a grey, rainy day here in Texas, too. Oh, well, I'm sure we can use the moisture.

I have never been on a cruise. I would probably get seasick.

I expect pictures of your bookshelves when they get built and installed. Yay! I love my books.
Tommy has a fish now! How excited he must be. It's the simple things that make them happy. My girlfriend bought her granddaughter who is almost 2 a playhouse for Christmas and all the "stuff" to go inside. All Charlotte cared about was the boxes. I rest my case.
We went on a 3 day cruise 2 years ago this time, to celebrate my in-laws 50th anniversary. I was surprised at how much fun I had. I loved it and we are looking forward to doing it again.

Good morning, Karen,

THANK YOU so much for your recent visit to my blog and for your encouraging words about my post on Diane Sawyer's piece on "Children from Appalachia." I've been so upset over this. My father has approached it differently, saying it's just one more in a long line of media pieces that portray a very one-sided story. He's had more time to get used to it. I'm OUTRAGED! I'm fed up with irresponsible journalism. I've had to speak out. I've sent letters to ABC, Fox News, and Diane Sawyer. I don't expect that I'll hear any feedback, but at least I've said what I need to say.

I so appreciate your support and words of kindness. It IS a beautiful place with such beautiful people...a very PROUD people. Maybe you can visit someday and judge for yourself. I think it's lovely...not without problems...but lovely just the same.

Hope you have a wonderful day and a great rest of the week. It's always so nice to hear from you!!!
