Monday, Monday

FOR TODAY, Monday, January 19, 2008. . .

Outside my window. . .Sunshine is glowing off the rooftops, warming the day. It's supposed to be in the high 50s today.

I am thinking . . . the kids don't have school today. Emily is going to babysit the neighbor kids and I need to go grocery shopping.

I am thankful for . . . a husband who is handy and likes to build me things.

From the kitchen . . . the cupboards are bare -- no coffee and no cookies! Today, I'll go grocery shopping and then bake some cookies. Put something in the crockpot for supper. Bake cupcakes for the middle school social tomorrow.

I am wearing . . . jeans, pink sweatshirt that says "Breckinridge", sneakers.

I am creating . . .a purposeful life:)

I am reading . . . Barack Obama's "Dreams From My Father."

I am hoping . . .to catch a couple of movies before they're gone. Mainly "Reader" and "Last Chance Harvey"

I am hearing . . .the television in the other room.

Around the house . . .laundry, organize scrapbooking and sewing stuff in my new cabinets, pay bills

One of my favorite things . . .when Hubs makes the coffee in the morning. It always tastes so much better.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . .book club here on Wednesday night. We're discussing "Those Who Save Us" by Jenna Blum.

Here is picture thought I am sharing . . .
My sister-in-law e-mailed this to me last week. It's my mother-in-law and her father, out fishing. I just love it!

You definitely are creating a purposeful life. Home and family are so important, and really come before all else. If all is good there, the rest of life is good too!

Enjoyed your daybook. LOVED the photo as well!

I know what you mean about your husband's coffee tasting better. Sometimes it's just better if we don't have to make it!

Good morning, Karen! Oh...you have sun and warm temperatures! Lucky you!! Thanks for sharing the photo of your mother-in-law and her father. It's adorable! And it reminded me that I need to organize all the family photographs that my grandmother gave to me recently. I have photographs that span the last 100 years! How fortunate!

Have a great week!

You left the SWEETEST comment about my "little" boy. Thank you. We mamas see those men so differently don't we?

Did we know your Hubs was making you new cabinets? At least that is what I gathered. You will have to post a picture sometime.

Have a GREAT week!

Your day sounds wonderful.

What a precious picture. Looks like your mother-in-law was setting memories in place of her father, as well. Very sweet.

There are about six movies showing now that I need to see, if I want to catch them before they leave. Somehow, I think I'll be putting them in my Netflix lineup. LOL

It's warming up here a little too, but not enough to satisfy me yet. I'm ready for spring!

I LOVE the name of your blog! Some of my best memories growing up include the many chats with our neighbors over mom's backyard fence. We just don't do enough of this with neighbors anymore...(sigh)
