Well. . .

The first coat of paint is up. Oh, help me, Rhonda! I'm just not sure! It's Behr's Arizona Tan 320D-4, but at this point I'm thinking they should have called it Aztec GOLD. I've taken a dozen pictures, but none of them show the true color. So, you'll have to use your imagination. Or go to Home Depot, if you're really bored and looking for something to do, check out the swatch and tell me what you think. I keep walking in the room, just to look again, and see what I think. I try to imagine what it will be like when it's not right up against the old weak chocolate milk color. And it's not framed by bright blue painting tape. And all the pictures are hung back on the wall, the furniture in place. I look at it with both hands tunneled around my eyes so I can see just the color all by itself. I wonder if I should have gone a shade darker, Sweet Maple 320D-5, or even Lion Mane 320D-6. Hubs says, give it time. In fact, he really likes it. A lot. He likes it so much, he says, that he wouldn't think of painting over it. I think that's what he's really trying to tell me. This is it, he's not going to repaint. So, I leave the room, walk around the house and do some stuff, and then saunter back in, to see how the color grabs me. And there's a part of me that feels this little thrill that, oh, this is sooo cool. It's not just the same old beige or the weak chocolate milk that was on the walls before. I like having color that jumps out and surrounds me and makes a statement. I'm just not quite sure, yet, what it's saying.

What matters most, of course, is that you like it, but for what it's worth, I LOVE it!

I think it looks great. Goes nicely with your furniture.

Sometimes a room will look so different when everything is back in place. I know when I did the purple rooms - I thought I had really lost my mind picking that color. But when everything was put in, all the decorations up, I really liked it - still do.

It looks great! I'm all about putting color on the walls...it looks warm and buttery.

I think it looks great, but I'm not there to see the whole thing. It does look a shade more gold than tan in the photos, but maybe it's just the lighting? I still think it's a beautiful color and very warm and homey looking.

I can relate to your husband's comment. We both HATE to paint and the two, just two, rooms that we have painted in our house we did one color and left it. Whether we liked it or not! We both hate, hate to paint and didn't want to do that again! Luckily, I'm fairly happy with both, although one is not the shade I was going for either.

Give it time and it might grow on you :)

I like it! But you do have to like it, that's most important! And we can't see the whole room, in person....it might look differently to you with everything put back in place. I have a room or two that looks like a very similar color! One is in my dining room...let me know if you want me to take some pictures of mine to email you!

It looks almost identical to what has been on my den walls for the past five years! Mine is Benjamin Moore and I can't remember the exact color... something tan? but it does take on a gold look sometimes. I am thinking about painting it less yellow before Christmas. I have loved the color though, my friend saw it in a show home and fell in love with it.

I LOVE it.

I have a similar color on my bedroom walls. It's the second color, as the first color I believe was called "No one will ever be able to sleep in here yellow".

from the pictures, it looks beautiful.

i think i will actually go to home depot and look at the color. i have a room i want to paint and i want a warm light yellow color. the pictures make your walls look the color i want, but i know that pictures can't capture the true color.

Believe it or not I have on my list to go to Home Depot and check out a green my daughter recommended for our next house, so I may well be able to check out your color. I'm about there with your husband though, once it's on the wall, call it good and move on. I hate choosing colors - they always seem to look different than I'd envisioned.

I like that color! I am sure you have noticed how different the color looks in daylight and lamplight. It is very warm and cozy, but sophisticated, too.

I live in an old fixer-upper that's almost 100 years old. Between jobs a few years back I painted every room in the house. They need it again. Ain't that the way life goes?! I also de-cluttered my basement and it's back to needing de-cluttering again. The flowerbeds look like a jungle! But I do day care for my two grandsons, ages 6 mos and 2 1/2 and my days are long - 11 to 12 hours - and busy busy busy. The walls, the basement, the flowerbeds...well, they'll still be there. This stage in life will only last until they begin school. I'd much rather cuddle and play with them right now. But I DO love your wall color!
