For Today

Outside my Window. . . is a clear day, much welcomed after the rainy weekend. The mountains are dusted with snow and the clouds are nestled at the base with the peaks floating above. Very heavenly.
I am thinking...about rearranging furniture.
I am thankful for...teachers. I admire and respect the teachers that work with my kids. I think that sometimes we hold them to impossibly high standards, and they are expected to pick up all the slack and perfect kids in areas that are the parents' responsibilites. Every profession has people that may not be best suited for that career. But most of the teachers I have known are honorable, hard-working and dedicated.
I am wearing...jeans, long sleeved t-shirt and socks.
I am reading...the first pages of Those Who Save Us. I had to put it aside while I read the selection for my book club this month, The Invisible Wall. It was sooo good!
I am hoping...to unpack the rest of the boxes downstairs this week. (Hey, I think I said this last week?)
I am creating...a new system for my pantry.
I am hearing..."I Saw God Today" by George Strait, and Abby snoring softly (sleeping off all those cookies)
Around the house...oooh, it's a mess! Long to-do list.
One of my favorite things...Our "new" fireplace
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Parent/Teacher conferences, Book Club, dinner for Caring Pregnancy Center, soccer practice, Driver's Ed (this is the last week and he gets his permit! Yikes!)
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

We have parent teacher conferences this week too....actually we schedule them this week and set them up for next week. Your week sounds as busy as mine.

That is so good, what you said about teachers, and so true!

I miss having a fireplace. I'm determined our next house will have one; that is assuming I am ever willing to face the work of moving again.

You are a very busy person, Karen!

i loved what you said about teachers. i agree. like you said, there's always some who shouldn't be doing what they're paid to do, but i think there are a lot of dedicated men and women who want to make a difference in a kid's life. and we should be encouraging and thanking those teachers.

i always wanted to be a part of a book club. it would keep me on track when i'm reading a book.

Oh, the post before this one just cracked me up, Karen. But, you can't really blame Abby - I mean, it WAS chocolate chip cookies. LOL

This is such a nice post. I'd absolutely love to have a fireplace. Honestly, I think I'd use it in July, I love fireplaces so much.

Ok, that's a great picture of the corn, I've never seen so many vibrant colors! :) Sounds like a good day and hopefully a good week in your "neck of the woods" :)

I'd love to hear about your new pantry system, hehehe!

Have a wonderful day :)

I like your header! I need a system, or something! Still working on purging stuff that's been here way too long.
It must be really nice weather there now...still fairly warm here.
