Meet Coby

There's a new puppy in the house. . .
Can you tell? He's full of curiosity. Abby is not quite sure what to make of him. And neither, quite frankly, am I. I've never had a dog this small. Most of the roasts I cook are bigger than this. But, Emily loves him and that's what matters.
He's a Jack Russell terrier which just poses so many neat possibilities for names. Like Charlie Russell. And Yukon Jack. Or Jack Daniels (is there a theme here?) But the kids didn't "get" any of those, so his name is Coby -- rhymes with Toby. And it doesn't really matter, because he doesn't answer to a name anyway!

Hahaha! I love that last line. So very true of a puppy.

I think he is just adorable!!! We have friends that have a JR terrior, and he is the smartest dog! They trained him quite easily to sit on his hind legs until you point at him and say BANG! He falls over like he's dead. It's hilarious to watch. You'll have many hours of fun with him.
I'd love to see your everything tree sometime!

Oh my goodness, look at Coby! What a doll, but boy, I bet he is going to be a terror for a while. We love Jack Russels, but they are so high-energy. My husband's brother has one and while that boy (his name is Roscoe!) is smart, he's also a whirling dervish of movement :) I know you guys will love him to bits though - definitely post more photos of him. I lurv dog photos! :)

I love that line, "most of the roasts I cook are bigger than this" So funny you are!

As the long-term sitter of an 11 month old 70 lb 'puppy' this cracked me up. Daily we are digging stuff out of his mouth, or finding it too late and tossing it in the trash. And ours doesnt come when we call either, especially if it's interesting outside and there are squirrels and sticks and noises - we just signed up for obedience classes, so maybe there's hope.

Great pictures! A friend has a mail slot in her front door, and her JR eats the mail as soon as the mailman drops it in. It wasn't so charming when he ate her federal income tax refund. JR's take a very active interest in the world.
Maybe yours will be big enough to roast by Easter!
